Town of Sylvan Lake changes date and time of council meetings

The Town of Sylvan Lake has announced starting June 10, all regular council meetings will be held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.

Meanwhile, the committee of the whole meetings will be held on the first and third Tuesdays, which were previously held on Wednesdays.

The regular council meetings were previously held on Mondays but were moved for a number of reasons including to allow for a more consistent schedule.

It also eliminates the need to schedule last minute special city council meetings and allows council to have extra time, if needed, to address agenda items.

Meetings are set to run from 4 to 6 p.m. and open mic sessions will take place at 5 p.m. The Town of Sylvan Lake said by starting meetings earlier, it will serve as a cost-saving measure as less money will be spent on staff overtime.
