St. Joseph High School teacher Jillian Klevyer has been named the winner of the Alberta School Board Association’s (ASBA) 2025 Edwin Parr Award for Zone 4.

Klevyer received the honour at the 2025 ASBA Edwin Parr Award Zone 4 Awards ceremony, which was held on Monday at the Innisfail Golf Club.

Klevyer said her win reflects the support of an incredible team and a community of people who’ve believed in her.

“While the award acknowledges my first year as a teacher, I have never walked this journey alone. I’ve been with Red Deer Catholic for seven years—six as an educational assistant and one as a teacher—and throughout that time, I’ve witnessed extraordinary educators transform lives, build meaningful relationships, and weave faith into every part of their teaching,” she said.

“I am where I am today because of these remarkable individuals who move mountains with their dedication and embody the very qualities I strive to reflect in my own practice. I am incredibly humbled to be counted among such outstanding nominees—this entire experience has been both meaningful and unforgettable.”

Meantime, St. Joseph High School Principal Gary Gylander said Klevyer receiving the award is a true testament to the passion, time and love she’s put into her job.

“She is an outstanding educator who is changing and impacting the lives of all students she encounters through the love, compassion and strong instructional practices shared,” Gylander said. “Not only has she made a huge impact in her classes but in our entire school community. She has worked hard and has overcome many barriers to be exactly in this spot and we are so blessed to watch and support her as she journeys through her teaching career.”
