Trial dates have been scheduled for a Red Deer teen charged in a firearms incident in the city’s south end last month.

Maverick McGillivary, 18, of Red Deer, is scheduled for trial on Jan. 16 and 19, 2026, in Red Deer Court of Justice.

It was approximately 11:49 a.m., on April 14, 2025, when Red Deer RCMP received a report of an individual with a firearm located in a field in the Lancaster neighbourhood.

Officers responded and arrested an 18-year-old male, along with two youths, one male and one female. Police say the trio was taken into custody without incident.

RCMP say a firearm was recovered and confirmed to be a replica firearm.

McGillivary faces 10 charges, including three counts of failure to comply, three counts of failure to comply with a release order condition, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, uttering threats, and using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence.

He was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody.
