Lacombe County in search of the 2025 Farm Family Award recipient

Lacombe County is seeking nominations for its 2025 Farm Family Award.

Nominations are open from May 16 to Aug. 18, with the aim being to find a family who has achieved exceptional things and made significant contributions in farm and ranch life within the community.

“The Farm Family of the Year Award is a meaningful way to recognize the hard work, resilience, and innovation of our local farm and ranch families,” said Reeve Barb Shepherd.

“These families are the backbone of our rural communities, and their commitment to stewardship and sustainability plays a vital role in shaping Lacombe County’s futu

The award acknowledges excellence in technical farm production and sustainability practices, family farm business management, agricultural industry involvement, and community and rural citizenship.

Past recipients are Cody Congdon and family (2024), and the Grose family (2023).

Nominations can be submitted in person or by email to communications@lacombecounty.com. Eligible nominees must be Lacombe County producers whose primary source of income is agriculture

The winner will be announced at the 2025 Chamber Gala in October.
