May 15, 2025 | 12:07 PM

The 33rd annual “Tradition Lives” tournament put on by the Red Deer Lacrosse Association is set for this weekend.

From May 16-19 in Red Deer a total of 56 teams from across Alberta and B.C. in seven different age divisions will compete to become tournament champions.

The tournament features teams in the U9, U11, U13-A, U13-B, U15-A, U15-B, and U17-B divisions and all of the games will be played in the G.H. Dawe Community Centre, Kinsmen Arenas, and Collicutt Centre.

In a statement written by the tournament committee on the tournament website, they hope all teams attending can create memories and accomplish their goals.

“The Tradition Lives Lacrosse Tournament is made possible through the efforts of volunteer parents and fans of the game that strive to offer a first class tournament experience for players of all ages and abilities. In the event of team difficulties or problems, tournament volunteers will be accessible throughout the weekend to provide assistance. Please feel free to contact these individuals with any questions or concerns,” as written in the statement.

“The tournament has evolved over the last 33 years to meet the needs of tournament patrons. These positive changes came about in response to suggestions provided by past tournament participants. Please help us continue to provide a quality product by notifying the tournament chairperson of any comments or suggestions you may have. Best of luck, and we hope that all teams have an enjoyable weekend.”

The games will officially begin Friday afternoon but for the full schedule for each division visit traditionliveslax.com.
