Over 27 millimetres of rain fell in Red Deer on Monday
Red Deer and area experienced significant amounts of rain on Monday.
Red Deer received 27.6 millimetres of rain, which was less than expected by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), who issued a rainfall warning Sunday calling for 50 to 70 mm. Lacombe was close behind with 20.9 millimetres of rain.
Christy Climenhaga, a spokesperson with ECCC, said the highest rainfall amounts were in the Foothills where 30 to 45 mm of precipitation fell.
Meanwhile, Nordegg saw 45.5 mm of rain, followed by Rocky Mountain House with 30.1 mm. The further south you went towards Calgary, amounts dropped significantly with only 14.9 millimetres there.
