Grow Kids events return to Dawe, Collicutt May 15

Red Deer Public Schools PSA — With a strong focus on health and wellness, Red Deer Public Schools is excited to host its 14th annual Grow Kids event.

Taking place on May 15 at both the G.H. Dawe Community Centre and the Collicutt Centre, the event will welcome all Grade 5 students across the division for a full day of learning, movement and connection.

Formerly known as Grow Boys and Go Girl, the event is now united under the name Grow Kids, reflecting a shared commitment to active, healthy physical, social and emotional development for all students.

“We are so excited to welcome our Grade 5 students to this year’s Grow Kids,” said Sean Grainger, Mental Health and Wellness Coordinator with Red Deer Public. “It’s so important that we continue to prioritize student wellness, and this event offers a meaningful opportunity to do just that.”

This year’s event is built around four core themes:

Throughout the day, students will take part in a variety of fun and enriching sessions, including:

• Design Your Own Time Machine
• Craft Your Way to Wellness
• Bully Banish
• Hand Drumming
• …and more!

More than 800 Grade 5 students from Red Deer Public schools and neighbouring school divisions are expected to attend the event, which is supported by more than 100 high school student volunteers, presenters, and staff.
