Red Deer’s building permit values were down in April

Year-over-year, building permit values in Red Deer dropped this April.

According to the city, there were 94 issued permits valued at nearly $7.5 million; that compares with 103 issued permits valued at $35 million in April 2024.

Year-to-date values are also lower in 2025, with current values at $35.8 million, compared with $51 million at this time last year.

Notable permits include:

• Building permit for tenant improvements for K-12 school at 3101-2827 30 Avenue, valued at $900,000
• Building permit for interior renovations for new daycare facility at 420 4900 Molly Banister Drive, valued at $800,000
• Building permit for interior renovations to partial second floor at 4320 50 Avenue, valued at $648,000
• Building permit for renovations to existing structure in preparation for future tenant improvements at 105-2004 50 Avenue, valued at $575,000
• Building permit for construction of a new single family detached dwelling with attached garage, basement development and covered deck at 10 Veer Place, valued at $296,000
