Montana First Nation woman identified as victim of fatal hit and run
The victim of a fatal hit and run near Wetaskiwin Thursday night has been identified as a 50-year-old woman from Montana First Nation.
Wetaskiwin RCMP were called to the scene along Highway 13 on May 1 at 11:30 p.m.
Members began to investigate, while a portion of the highway remained closed for hours. With the assistance of a K-Division Collision Analyst team and the Wetaskiwin General Investigation Unit, the investigation is ongoing.
Mounties say the remains of the deceased woman were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton where she was identified.
