Sylvan Lake says keep your toilet lids down for two months

The town of Sylvan Lake is asking residents to keep the lid down for an amount of months that number two.

Until June 30, annual sewer line maintenance will be ongoing and it may cause toilet gurgling.

As for the why the town does this type of maintenance, they say it’s to clear material that could could cause sewer backups or blockages, and to make sure wastewater continues flowing to the Red Deer wastewater treatment plant.

They also recommend you fill your p-traps with water to prevent stinkiness.
