Red Deer District Chamber comments on election results

Apr 29, 2025 | 2:19 PM

The Red Deer District Chamber is congratulating new prime minister, Mark Carney, and new Red Deer MP, Burton Bailey.

In a statement, they also congratulate the hard work and dedication of all candidates.

A non-partisan organization, says Chamber CEO Scott Robinson, the Chamber says it is primarily focused on the economic vitality of Red Deer and region.

“In our interactions with the candidates leading up to the election, we sought clarity on several key issues that impact our local business community, including policies related to the energy industry, resource and infrastructure development, tax reform that encourages business investment and job creation, national debt reduction, transportation and trade infrastructure, economic development and ensuring policy makers are ensuring a stronger voice from the business community at the federal decision-making table,” Robinson said.

“These are issues that directly affect the growth and sustainability of businesses in Red Deer and the surrounding area, and we will continue to advocate for policies that address these priorities.”

Robinson added that the Chamber will continue to push for clear, collaborative approaches to ensuring economic opportunities are accessible for all.
