Red Deer County seeking feedback on rules for subdividing agricultural land
Red Deer County wants residents’ input on potential changes to how agricultural land is allowed to be subdivided.
Three open houses are scheduled for this purpose in April and May.
“Currently, Red Deer County’s Municipal Development Plan (MDP) policies’ support the subdivision of one parcel out of a quarter section to allow for the subdivision of a farmstead, a severance, a value-added business or a bare parcel,” the county explains in a release.
“However, since the adoption of the MDP in 2020, various situations have prompted a review of subdivision policies to consider allowing two parcels to be subdivided from a quarter section.”
