New road coming to Red Deer Regional Airport dubbed “Airport Way”

Red Deer County’s council has unanimously approved “Airport Way” as the name of a new road coming to the Red Deer Regional Airport.

Previously unnamed, the road will be a continuation of Airport Drive within the Hamlet of Springbrook, heading north to Township Road 374, then curving west to C&E Trail.

The name is intended to provide navigation clarity to the community, airport tenants and visitors.

Red Deer County will be responsible for installing road signs designating this change at its own cost.

A limited number of nearby acreage properties will have their addresses impacted by the name change; the county will also cover the expenses needed to update their documents.

Construction of the road is part of a larger airport upgrade project and expected to begin this spring.
