“The goal of this initiative is not just about traveling; it’s about forging meaningful connections with local leaders and residents who truly love their communities. During each visit, we hope to engage in conversations that illuminate the needs and desires of each community,” says Executive Director Erin Peden.

“We are seeking local insights to guide the Community Foundation to a greater understanding of the specific types of support needed in each community. Whether it’s funding for local projects, resources for community development, or fostering collaborations among local groups, our goal is to empower each community’s vision for a brighter future.”

Additionally, Peden says, they will be awarding a total of $35,000 in small neighbourhood grants. The deadline to apply is April 2.

“We believe that together we can create lasting change by harnessing the collective voices of those who know their communities best,” Peden adds. “Together, let’s explore how we can work hand-in-hand to build community wealth and strengthen the quality of life in central Alberta.”
