
One of two sentenced in central Alberta stolen vehicle police chase
One of two people charged following a police pursuit in central Alberta last year has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in jail.
Jeff Edward Medd, 41, of Leduc County, was sentenced to 910 days behind bars in Wetaskiwn Court of Justice on March 13, 2025. However, he was given credit for 179 days of pre-trial custody, leaving him a total of 731 days or a little over two years left to serve.
Medd plead guilty to theft of a motor vehicle, assaulting peace officer with weapon, and flight from peace officer, in the incident last fall.
His co-accused, Corey Garrett Peers, 36, of Wainwright, AB, is scheduled for trial in Wetaskiwin Court of Justice from Nov. 12-14, 2025.
