Red Deer County seeking input on proposed gravel extraction overlay district changes

Red Deer County — Red Deer County is proposing changes to the Gravel Extraction Overlay District (Overlay). The purpose of the Overlay is to ensure consistent and appropriate regulations are applied to the land for the extraction of sand and gravel materials.

Red Deer County’s current policies include: gravel extraction details required including site plan, mining and reclamation plans, extraction setbacks, dust control, noise control, site security and protection, hauling and operation details, environmental assessment, historical assessment, reclamation, full cost reclamation security, agreements and levies, and other considerations including registration with Alberta Sand and Gravel Association (ASGA) and comply with ASGA Truck Registry Minimum Operating Standards. https://reddeercounty.civicweb.net/document/60323/
