Man arrested on breach of parole charge in north Red Deer Tuesday

Red Deer RCMP have shared why there was a heavy police presence Tuesday afternoon on north Gaetz Avenue.

RCMP say during a traffic stop, they arrested 27-year-old Jacob Conrad Courtemanche, who had outstanding warrants issued by Drumheller RCMP and the Parole Board of Canada.

With respect to Drumheller RCMP, Courtemanche faces drug possession-related charges.

As for the Parole Board, Courtemanche allegedly breached the curfew condition of his parole.

Courtemanche was sentenced in May 2023, in Red Deer, to nearly 3.5 years of prison time. That was for his role in an incident that took place in May 2022.
