Rebels announce Brandon Hagel Bobblehead Night on March 1

Brandon Hagel will become the 10th former Red Deer Rebel to earn a bobblehead.

One of the best players in team history will be honoured on March 1 at the Brandon Hagel Bobblehead Night when the Rebels host the Kelowna Rockets at the Centrium.

The bobbleheads will be given to the first 1,400 fans that come through the doors and draw tickets will be given to the next 500 fans for a chance to win one of the remaining 100 bobbleheads.

The Saskatoon, Sask. product joined the Rebels in 2016 as an undrafted free agent and went on to play 259 regular season games in Red Deer through 2019. During that time, he scored 103 goals, which is fifth most in franchise history, and a franchise leading 179 assists for 279 assists. He also had 30 points in 33 playoff games.

He is now in his sixth NHL season and has played 248 games with 269 points. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks but now plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Currently, he’s playing for Team Canada at the 4 Nations Faceoff who play Team USA on Thursday night in the final.

Hagel joins Colby Armstrong, Arron Asham, Matt Dumba, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Dion Phaneuf, Brandon Sutter, Cam Ward, Cam Moon, and Woolly Bully as the only Rebels to receive a bobblehead.
