Educators descend upon Red Deer for central Alberta convention

Educators are gathering in Red Deer this week for the Central Alberta Teachers’ Convention.

The gathering is happening Feb. 20 and 21 at Red Deer Polytechnic.

It includes keynote speakers such as Wade Sorochan, an accomplished broadcaster and mental health advocate, who will speak on the effects of social media on youth, and how to keep kids safe.

Then, Cadmus Delorme, the former chief of Cowessess First Nation, will speak.

More than 1,750 educators are expected at the convention, with 300+ sessions taking place by 170 speakers.
