Trio of incidents slow down traffic on central Alberta highways

Snow and icy conditions have created hazardous roadways in central Alberta this morning.
According to Alberta 511, a pair of vehicle collisions and a vehicle recovery made up a trio of reported incidents.
A vehicle recovery on Highway 53 near the QEII impacted traffic in both directions at approximately 7:30. Emergency crews have responded and motorists can expect delays.
At 8:23, emergency crews attended a collision near Red Deer on the QEII southbound approaching the Red Deer River — between 32 Street and 67 Street. Motorists should be prepared to stop.
