Trial date set in Red Deer robbery

A trial date has been set for a Red Deer man charged in an alleged local robbery.

Aurie Hayley Peigan, 30, is scheduled for trial in Red Deer court of Justice on Aug. 20, 2025. He’s charged with one count of robbery.

It was on June 29, 2024, at approximately 12:55 a.m., when Red Deer RCMP received a distress call stating there was a robbery in progress at a business in the Anders Park East neighbourhood.

After some investigation, RCMP determined the suspect allegedly entered the business and produced a hammer, demanding money from staff.

Coordination between the Red Deer RCMP general duty officers, Police Dog Services, Downtown Patrol Unit, and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems resulted in the suspect’s location and arrest a short distance from the scene and without incident.
