$17 Million in January

City says building permit values start high in 2025

Officials with the City of Red Deer say building permit values have started high in 2025, with 65 issued permits valued at $17 million, compared with 67 permits worth $7 million in January 2024.

The city says notable permits include:

• Building permit for construction of a 13-unit apartment at 1000-4750 54 Avenue, valued at $1.9 million
• Building permit for construction of an 11-unit apartment with commercial rental unit at 2000-4750 54 Avenue, valued at $1.6 million
• Building permit for construction of the third phase of Notre Dame Plaza, consisting of a single storey 14,256 sq. ft. building, additional parking stalls, sidewalk and landscaping, valued at $1.5 million
• Building permit for construction of a nine-unit apartment at 5000-4750 54 Avenue, valued at $1.3 million
