This week, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens Basketball and Volleyball teams will play the SAIT Trojans. The RDP Queens Hockey team will face-off against the NAIT Ooks. The Kings Hockey team will challenge the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings. Both RDP Futsal teams will participate in the first South Regional in Lethbridge.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Basketball team (10-5) will host the first place SAIT Trojans (14-1). The Queens are tied for third with the Briercrest College Clippers in the ACAC South Division.

Whitehorse’s Jayden Demchuk ranks fifth in the league, averaging 9.4 rebounds per game for the Queens.

RDP Queens at SAIT | Saturday, February 1 | 1 p.m.

The RDP Queens will tip-off against the Trojans in Calgary.

RDP Kings vs SAIT Trojans | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, January 31 | 8 p.m.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Basketball team (6-9) will compete against the SAIT Trojans (8-7) in the Fas Gas – On The Run Gymnasium. The Kings are sixth. The Trojans are tied for fourth in the South Division.

Payton Baltzer (Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences) leads the league with a 60.9 shooting percentage from three-point range.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings will face the Trojans, completing the weekend series.

Volleyball

RDP Queens at SAIT Trojans | Friday, January 31 | 6 p.m.

The first place Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Volleyball team (11-2) will challenge the SAIT Trojans (7-8) in Calgary. The Trojans are fourth in the South Division.

Autumn Roos (Bachelor of Education Middle Years) ranks third in the league, averaging 0.6 blocks per set.

The RDP Queens will battle against the Trojans at home.

RDP Kings at SAIT Trojans | Friday, January 31 | 8 p.m.

The second place Kings Volleyball team (12-1) will compete against the fourth seed SAIT Trojans (7-8) on the road. The Kings have averaged 10.96 kills per set.

The RDP Kings will play the Trojans at home.

Hockey

Queens vs Ooks | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, January 31 | 7 p.m.

The third place RDP Queens Hockey team (10W-6L-1 OTL) will host the NAIT Ooks (15W-4L-0 OTL), who rank second in ACAC Women’s Hockey.

The Queens have killed off 92.9 per cent of their penalties and capitalized on 16.8 per cent of their power plays.

The Queens will challenge the Ooks in Edmonton.

RDP Kings at University of Alberta Augustana Vikings | Friday, January 31 | 7 p.m.

The third seed Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Hockey team (9W-6L-3 OTL) will face-off against the sixth place University of Alberta Augustana Vikings (6W-8L-2 OTL) in Camrose.

The Kings have averaged 4.28 goals per game, which is the highest in the league.

Futsal

ACAC Futsal South Regional #1 | Lethbridge Polytechnic | February 1-2

Both the RDP Kings and Queens Futsal teams will play four games over two days at the first ACAC Futsal South Regional in Lethbridge.
