Trial dates have been set for a Red Deer man accused of child luring.

Terry Haskell, 72, is scheduled for trial in Red Deer Court of Justice from July 28-31, 2025.

On Aug. 10, 2024, Red Deer RCMP received a report that an older male had offered candy to a number of child victims, invited them into his apartment, and then sexually assaulted them. Mounties allege this type of interaction reportedly occurred on several different occasions with different children.

RCMP Red Deer resident Terry Haskell with:

  • Sexual interference with a minor under the age of 16;
  • Sexual assault of a child under the age of 16;
  • Invitation to sexual touching;
  • Indecent acts;
  • Breach of probation (x2).

“Given the nature of the allegations, we believe there are other victims who may be afraid to talk about it,” said Sergeant Gary Kroeker of Red Deer RCMP Serious Crimes General Investigation Section, at the time of the arrest. “As the accused is currently in custody, we want to give others the opportunity to come forward and assure them they are safe to talk to us, that we will follow up on the information they provide, and we will connect them with the resources they need to get through this.”

In 2021, Haskell, who was 68 at the time, pled guilty and received a six-month jail sentence plus three years of probation, after he exposed himself to a person under 16. He was also charged in 2019 for allegedly showing a naked picture of himself to a child.
