Jan 10, 2025 | 4:35 PM

Alberta’s Minister of Environment and Protected Areas Rebecca Schulz is heading to Sacramento, Calif. in an effort to promote Alberta’s success in emissions reductions and responsible energy development, say government officials.

Schulz will be travelling from Jan. 13-15 and will participate in discussions about Alberta’s leadership in innovation and methane emissions reductions, as well as energy security.

She will travel with one staff member and mission expenses will be published online.

The government says it is “committed to working with its national and international partners to advance shared interests that can lead to new opportunities for people and businesses in Alberta and around the world.”

Itinerary for Minister Schulz:

  • Jan. 13: Travel to Sacramento and hold meetings with state officials and industry stakeholders.
  • Jan. 14: Meet with state legislators and speak at the California Chamber of Commerce on technology and innovation to reduce emissions.
  • Jan. 15: Meet with state agency leadership and local leaders and return to Alberta.

This itinerary is subject to change.

In 2024, Alberta’s trade with California was valued at more than US$4.7 billion.
