Registration for Kindergarten and Pre-K at RDPSD opens later this month

Red Deer Public School Division is reminding parents that registration for Kindergarten and Little Learners Pre-Kindergarten is right around the corner.

Registration for the 2025-26 school year will open on Jan. 13, at 8 a.m. and parents are encouraged to register online.

“Our programs are all about creating a strong foundation for children’s success,” said Kim Kirkwood, Certified Director of Early Learning with Red Deer Public Schools. “Thanks to our dedicated team, children develop the skills they need while building relationships and enjoying every step of the journey.”

The division says that Kindergarten is an exciting milestone for children who begin their journey of developing growth and friendships. They also want to remind parents that they’re here to support them as well.

Parents can choose from full-day or half-day Kindergarten programs that are offered in English, French and Spanish for their kids.

Teachers focus on communication, early literacy, and numeracy skills, while also nurturing independence, confidence, and friendships.

In the Little Learners Pre-Kindergarten program, it’s specially designed for those aged three and four.

They describe it as a warm, welcoming space where young children can play and socialize with peers, boost communication and creativity, and foster a lifelong love of learning.

They offer supports such as speech and language, behavioural, occupational and physical therapists. This means they can offer opportunities to meet each child’s unique needs.
