Innisfail man facing charges for alleged stabbing incident at Red Deer business
An Innisfail man is facing multiple charges after an alleged stabbing incident that occurred at a Red Deer business on 22nd Street earlier this week.
On Sunday Dec. 15, 2024, at 12:14 p.m., police responded to the business after Lane McCharles, 33, allegedly entered the facility with a knife, stabbed a staff member in the leg, and tried to fight everyone else.
Red Deer RCMP constable Cory Riggs said employees held the man down until police arrived.
As a result, McCharles is facing charges of aggravated assault; assault while choking, suffocating or strangling; three counts of uttering threats; assault; carrying a concealed weapon; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; two counts of disobeying a court order; unauthorized possession of a firearm; and possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
