Crossroads Church takes part in Operation Christmas Child

Dec 17, 2024 | 10:56 AM

Last Friday, five members of Red Deer’s Crossroads Church, travelled to Calgary to put together gift-filled shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child before they’re sent to children in need across the world.

Led by Red Deer resident Tammy Grobe, this is the 10th year a Crossroads group has led the initiative put on my Samaritan’s Purse, which sends gifts to children in Central America, Africa, Ukraine, and the Philippines.

“We really enjoy being together and knowing these shoeboxes are going to brighten the lives of children around the world,” Grobe said in a media release. “We leave this processing centre very fulfilled.”

Inside each gift box is school supplies, hygiene items, and toys. Grobe, 64, has been packing showboxes for kids in need for 30 years.
