Sylvan Lake’s Winter Village receives donation to repair grinch-like vandalism

Christmas came early for the Town of Sylvan Lake and Christmas Village Association this year as a local business has donated $2,200 to fix damage to the Winter Village caused by vandalism in November.

Red Deer Bottling, in partnership with Coca-Cola, presented the cheque to help the town replace lights and other features damaged from the vandalism.

“Together, we’re thrilled to make this donation possible as a small way to give back during the holiday season,” said Tarah Truant, vice-president of strategy and operations for Red Deer Bottling. “We hope that what began as a discouraging story can turn into something positive, inspiring even more families to hear about and come out to enjoy the Winter Village!”

“Sylvan Lake is better with incredible partners that help bring the community together. We’re very appreciative for their help in keeping the Winter Village bright for the holiday season,” commented Monique Pummings, Director of Recreation, Culture and Tourism.
