The United Way Central Alberta (UWCA) has been gifted $667,063 after a successful fundraising campaign by NOVA Chemicals.

“NOVA Chemicals employees once again show extraordinary leadership in central Alberta through their giving of time, treasure, and talent during this year’s United Way Campaign. These passionate change makers truly strengthen our communities so that everyone can reach their potential,” said Chelsea O’Donoghue, UWCA CEO.

NOVA officials say the organization’s fundraiser is employee-driven and that in 2024, it supported 23 agencies across central Alberta and contributed 1,305 hours of volunteer time. They add that NOVA has been supporting the UWCA for two decades.

“We are extremely proud of our campaign this year. It was a very busy time on site in 2024 executing multiple planned outages, and we weren’t sure if we could expect the same high level of engagement and volunteerism NOVA Chemicals employees have become known for. But instead, NOVA employees knocked it out of the park with their dedication to volunteerism and the United Way Central Alberta!” commented the 2024 Campaign co-chair for NOVA Chemicals, Ray Georgeson.
