Preliminary hearing scheduled for Clearwater County man accused in Innisfail area arson

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a central Alberta man facing charges after an Innisfail area business was set on fire earlier this year.

Tyler John Giglia, 39, of Clearwater County, is slated to find out on July 9, 2025, if his case has enough evidence to go to trial.

It was on June 19, 2024, at 7:58 a.m., when Innisfail RCMP received a report of an individual spraying gasoline on a commercial building east of Innisfail.

While en route, RCMP were advised the suspect had lit the gasoline and the business was on fire. Reports also indicated the suspect had fled in a vehicle.

RCMP quickly located the vehicle and suspect, who was arrested. Mounties say fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze, however, there was significant damage to the building. Fortunately, say police, no injuries were reported.
