Three Hills RCMP have charged a B.C. woman involved in a meat purchasing scam.

Penticton, B.C.’s Krysta-Lyn Williams, 36, has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and a warrant for her arrest has been issued following an investigation that began in December 2023.

The fraud investigation unveiled that 16 victims sent $60,000 through e-transfer for meat products that were not delivered as promised.

Police originally began investigating after one of the victims arranged a large meat order with DBL Meats, which was reported to be based out of Kelowna, B.C. and claimed to provide fresh farm products to Canadians.

The investigation determined that DBL Meats was not a legitimate company and had fraudulently acquired money from the victims.

Police are asking the public that if they have knowledge of Williams’ whereabouts to contact local police.

The RCMP believes there are more victims of this scam and say If you have been in contact with DBL Meats, are a victim to this crime, or have information pertaining to this investigation, please contact the Three Hills RCMP at 403-443-5539.
