Sylvan Lake RCMP asking for public’s help identifying suspect

The Sylvan Lake RCMP are looking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who stole a vehicle on Reynolds Road Thursday.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Halloween, RCMP received the report and at the time there were children inside the vehicle.

Not long after driving away, Mounties say the suspect left the vehicle in an alleyway and ran from the area on foot. The children are safe and were unharmed.

Police attended the scene with Police Dog Services but were unable to find the suspect.

RCMP did not say whether the suspect was male or female but described the suspect as a medium build and approximately five feet, 10 inches tall.

The suspect was also wearing a heavy dark coloured jacket with a hood, a brown flat brim baseball hat, blue jeans and white shoes with a black mark near the heel.

Anyone with information or surveillance footage in the area of Reynolds Road between 3:45 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. are asked to contact Sylvan Lake RCMP at 403-887-3333.
