Father Henri Voisin School celebrates 10 years

A Red Deer elementary school celebrated its 10-year anniversary this week.

Father Henri Voisin School of Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools marked a decade of what officials describe as engaging and innovative education to its students.

Since the school opened in 2014, the district says they’ve created a vibrant learning community that balances academic excellence with deep-rooted community service and spiritual growth.

The schools Maker Space, updated earlier this year, is one of many examples where they’ve made an effort to enhance the learning environment.

“Though this is my first year at Father Henri Voisin School, I can already see the incredible spirit and heart that define this community. Our 10th anniversary is not just about looking back on our achievements, but also about embracing the exciting possibilities ahead,” said Principal Mike Cellini.

“I am proud to lead a school where we nurture not only curious minds but compassionate hearts, ensuring that every child feels valued and inspired to live their faith in meaningful ways.”

Father Henri Voisin has also been involved in helping the community through an ongoing partnership with Villa Marie Continuing Care Centre.

While there, students have dedicated many hours to extending care, compassion and companionship to its elderly residents. They’ve embodied the schools motto of “Let the little children come to me.”

Moving forward, the school plans to build off the past 10 years by continuing to implement new technology, promoting inquiry-based learning, and strengthening partnerships in the community.

The school division invites the entire school community to celebrate with gratitude for the past decade and with hope for the future.
