Central Alberta community groups receive grants for facility upgrades

Two central Alberta community groups have received grants through the UFA Agricultural Community Foundation (ACF) to upgrade and install features at local public facilities.

Through the ACF’s Rural Communities Grant Program, the Rimbey Agricultural Society received $30,000 to aid them in upgrading their kitchen, and The Kneehill Historical Society, in Three Hills, was awarded $15,000 to go towards a theatre and seminar room.

Communities could apply for a minimum of $10,000, up to a total of $100,000 for capital projects that would support recreational, educational and cultural facilities or programs that enrich the agricultural community.

“This Rural Communities Grant Program has been an exciting first campaign for our newly established foundation and we’re thrilled by the results in our inaugural year,” commented Jennifer Wood, UFA AFC advisory board chair.
