KINGS AND QUEENS

This week in RDP Athletics: Oct. 11-13

This week, the RDP Queens Hockey team will hit the ice for the second time this season with a home-and-home series starting in Lloydminster on Friday.

The Soccer teams will host the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks and the Medicine Hat College Rattlers.

The Rodeo team will head off to Vermilion for the Lakeland College Fall Classic.

The RDP Basketball teams will host their annual Thanksgiving Classic Tournament while the Kings Hockey team will battle it out with the SAIT Trojans in pre-season action.

Queens vs Lakeland College Rustlers | Lloydminster, AB | Friday, October 11 | 5 p.m.
Queens vs Rustlers | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre Arena | Saturday, October 12 | 5 p.m.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Hockey team will faceoff in their first home-and-home series of the season against the Lakeland College Rustlers. The Queens are 1-0 while the Rustlers will open up their season this weekend at home against the Polytechnic on Friday night.

Soccer

Queens vs Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks | RDP Main Field | Saturday, October 12 | 2 p.m.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens (7-2-0) will host the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks (5-3-0) on Saturday. McKenna Leslie has 32 shots on goal which is third in the conference.

RDP Queens vs Medicine Hat College Rustlers | RDP Main Field | Sunday, October 13 | 12 p.m.

After defeating the Rattlers (3-4-1) earlier this season, the Queens will look for the season sweep on Sunday afternoon. Striker Alisha Coules and Leslie are tied for the team lead in goals with six.

Kings vs LP Kodiaks | RDP Main Field | Saturday, October 12 | 4 p.m.

The top seed RDP Kings (4-1-2) will play the second place Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks (4-2-1) at home. Red Deer’s Sarcevic leads the league with 22 points and nine goals.

Kings vs MHC Rattlers | RDP Main Field | Sunday, October 13 | 2 p.m.

In the second last match of the season, the Kings will host the Medicine Hat College Rattlers (3-1-2) who have won their last three games including wins over the Kodiaks and Trojans.

Goaltender Brian Murray is tied for fourth place in the conference with 39 saves.

Cross Country

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens Cross Country team will compete in the final Grand Prix of the season at the University of Alberta-Augustana course in Camrose on Saturday afternoon.

The Queens have earned first place, while the Kings have finished in third in two of the last three events.

Rodeo

LLC Fall Classic | Vermilion, AB | October 11-13

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens will participate in the LLC Fall Classic in Vermilion, AB. The rodeo schedule, including results, is available online.
