Red Deer Symphony Orchestra rises again for new performing season

The Red Deer Symphony Orchestra (RDSO) launches its 2024-25 season on October 19 at the Red Deer Polytechnic Arts Centre with its ‘We Rise Again” program.

The concert will be a Classical-Canadian fusion, featuring local cello virtuosos Kathryn and Sofia Fakeley.

“We Rise Again” is a pairing of Elgar’s Cello Concerto with Rise Again, a piece of Canadian musical history that was popularized by the Rankin Family, Anne Murray, Rita McNeil, and the Men of the Deeps. It will also feature Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations and Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Cellos.
