ACCREDITED SINCE 2007

Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce re-accredited for standard of excellence

Oct 8, 2024 | 12:29 PM

The Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce has been re-accredited as achieving the Chamber Accreditation Council of Canada’s (CACC) highest standard of excellence for 2025-2029.

To achieve the title, a chamber must submit its policies and procedures to the CACC for evaluation against national standards. Achieving accreditation means a chamber has been formally recognized for passing the review and demonstrating excellence in its leadership, governance, and operations.

Chuck Davidson, president of the CACC, emphasized that “accreditation not only signifies a chamber’s exceptional management and strategic vision –it marks an enduring commitment to applying best practices and raising standards across the entire chamber network.”

The CACC says there are a range of practical benefits that accreditation holds for chambers, including:

  • Establishing dependable governance policies and procedures;
  • Aligning with baseline standards and best practices that build resilient core operations;
  • Sharpening a chamber’s strategic focus;
  • Growing a chamber’s competitive edge and encouraging member engagement;
  • Showcasing a community as a great place to do business, backed by an exceptional chamber;
  • Verifying good governance and high quality operations to a chamber’s board of directors and membership;
  • Strengthening a chamber’s brand and credibility with corporate sponsors; and
  • Providing assurance to grant funders that a chamber has robust financial policies in place and can deliver impactful projects with reliable reporting.
