Red Deer building permit values rise in September

The City of Red Deer reports that building permit values increased in September, with 115 issued permits valued at $7.7 million.

Last year, the City issued 92 permits in September worth $5.5 million.

Year-to-date values also remain higher in 2024 with current values at $93 million, compared with $73 million at the same time last year.

Notable permits include:

  • Building permit for interior renovations to Red Deer Hospital (3942 50A Avenue) valued at $3.5 million
  • Building permit for renovation of Central Alberta Co-Op corporate office (6201 46 Avenue) valued at $1 million
  • Building permit for main and upper floor renovation at 60 Payne Close, valued at $281,000
  • Building permit to construct a new single-family detached dwelling with developed basement, front veranda, covered deck and screen room (2 Tozer Lane) valued at $262,000
  • Building permit to construct a new single-family detached dwelling with front attached garage and rear deck (86 Turnbull Close) valued at $217,000.
