Humane Society holding multiple fundraising events this October

Halloween Pet Portraits: October 19, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at CAHS

The Central Alberta Humane Society (CAHS) is once again partnering with Amy Cheng Photography, this time to offer Halloween themed photo sessions to families and their pets.

Whether they’re dressed up or not, families can bring their furry pals down to the shelter to get their photo taken with a Halloween backdrop. Photos will be delivered through an online public gallery.

One pose costs $35. One additional pose is $25, two additional poses are $40, and adding three other poses is $65.

There are five appointments available for half hour time slot, and session will take place in the order of arrival. Registration for half hour slots can be made online.

Teams will play three games, and the entry fee also covers shoe rental, a pizza and pop. There will be prizes for the top teams as well as a silent auction, raffles, and opportunities to enter the 50/50 draw.

“This is more than just a bowling night,” says Kelly Richard, fund development coordinator at CA Humane. “It’s an opportunity for animal lovers to come together, have fun, and help us provide medical care, shelter, and love to the animals who need it most.”

Teams should have four to six players, and the entry cost is $75 per player. There are also sponsorship opportunities remaining:

• Lane Sponsorship for $500: Business name will be prominently displayed on a lane.
• Lane Sponsorship and Team for $1000: Sponsor a lane and gather a team to join the fun.

The organization is also accepting donations to its silent auction.

Fall 50/50: Ends October 31

The CAHS Fall 50/50 closes sales on October 31 and will draw the winner on November 1.

As of October 3, the pot sits at $3,930, with the winner slated to take home $1,965.

Tickets can be purchased online and range in quantity and price:

• one for $10
• 10 for $25
• 25 for $50
• 50 for $75
• 100 for $100
