Province aiming to improve delivery of public infrastructure

Sep 30, 2024 | 2:43 PM

Alberta’s Minister of Infrastructure is in Boston to learn about construction project delivery in similar jurisdictions.

Government officials say Pete Guthrie will meet with construction companies and public health authorities and tour health care infrastructure projects in Boston to share insights and learn about best practices, challenges and solutions when it comes to delivering high-quality, innovative infrastructure projects on time and on budget.

According to the government, Boston and Alberta have similar climate considerations and infrastructure needs.

“This is a unique opportunity to learn about another jurisdiction’s approach to delivering public infrastructure,” says Guthrie. “We look forward to learning about their best practices and modes of project delivery to help optimize our own methods for the benefit of Albertans.”

Officials say mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.

Alberta’s government says it is committed to working with its national and international partners to advance shared interests that can lead to new opportunities for people and businesses in Alberta and around the world. Officials say Minister Guthrie will be accompanied by one member of his staff.
