This week in RDP Athletics: Sept. 27-29

This week, the RDP Kings and Queens Soccer teams will face the Ambrose University Lions in Calgary. The Queens will also play the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings at home in a Sunday tilt. The Red Deer Polytechnic Cross Country Running team will race in Running Room Grand Prix #4 in Calgary.

The RDP Basketball, Hockey and Volleyball squads will participate in exhibition play as they prepare for the season.

Soccer

RDP Queens at Ambrose University Lions — Saturday, September 28 — 12 p.m.

The second seed Red Deer Polytechnic Queens (4-1-0) will challenge the fourth place Lions (2-2-0) in Calgary. Red Deer’s McKenna Leslie, a first-year Queen, is tied for third in ACAC Women’s Soccer with four assists.

Queens vs U of A Augustana Vikings — RDP Main Field — Sunday, September 29 — 1 p.m.

The RDP Queens (4-1-0) will host the seventh seed Vikings (0-5) in an afternoon contest.

Red Deer Polytechnic Kings at Lions — Saturday, September 28 — 2 p.m.

The RDP Kings (2-1-2) will face the sixth place Ambrose University Lions (0-2-1) on the road. Red Deer’s Ajdin Sarcevic (Business Administration) has six goals, sharing the league lead.

Cross Country Running

Grand Prix #4 — hosted by St. Mary’s in Calgary — Saturday, September 28

After two strong outings this season, the Red Deer Polytechnic Cross Country Running team will seek more strong performances at Running Room Grand Prix #4 in Calgary.

Rodeo

Northern Lights College Rodeo — Dawson Creek, BC — September 28 and 29

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens will participate in the Northern Lights College Rodeo in Dawson Creek, looking to continue their momentum from last weekend in Vermilion.
