Pines and Normandeau power outage presumed to be caused by extreme winds
A power outage in the Pines and Normandeau neighbourhoods on the morning of September 26 is believed to have been caused by high winds that resulted in equipment failure, says Dean Walker, senior utilities superintendent.
The outage was reported at 4:00 a.m. and crews were on site by about 4:20 a.m., with power being restored by 6:42 a.m.
The incident impacted about 80 residential customers and 10 commercial customers.
“We appreciate the public reporting it to us and if the public does see an issue with the electrical equipment or downed lines, keep yourselves safe,” Walker said.
