One of two men charged in central Alberta robbery sentenced to 15 months
One of two people charged in a liquor store robbery with bear spray in Wetaskiwin last summer has been sentenced to 15 months behind bars.
Eric Vincent Okeymow, 30, a resident of Maskwacis, was also sentenced to 12 months of probation, and given a 10-year firearm prohibition after being convicted on one count of robbery in Wetaskiwin Court of Justice Sept. 10, 2024. A charge of assault with a weapon was withdrawn on Aug. 16, 2024, following the completion of his trial.
Co-accused, Erin Bull, 27, a resident of Red Deer, sees his matter return to Wetaskiwin Court of Justice Sept. 16, 2024.
It was on Aug. 22, 2023, at 8:00 p.m., when Wetaskiwin RCMP say they received a 911 call from an employee of a liquor store in Wetaskiwin. Mounties allege two males entered the store, deployed bear spray in the face of the cashier, and stole multiple bottles of liquor before fleeing the scene.
