Sep 10, 2024 | 4:59 PM

Maskwacis RCMP have made two arrests in relation to an alleged assault and vehicle theft.

On Sept. 8, RCMP received a report that a victim was assaulted before her vehicle, a 2023 Dodge truck, was allegedly stolen by two known offenders.

Police say the same suspects were then reported to have shot a firearm at another witness near the Bear Hills Truck Stop on the QEII.

The vehicle was located with assistance from EPS Air1, which maintained surveillance of the truck. Mounties say it was observed pulling in to a residence on Louis Bull First Nation. The RCMP Emergency Response Team was deployed and, with assistance from EPS TAC, all occupants safely existed the home and were then taken into custody.

RCMP have made two arrests as a result of this investigation thus far.

Colin Tyson Bull, a 24-year-old residing in Louis Bull First Nation, and Shaunelle Tawny Marilyn Okeymow, 31-years-old and also residing in Louis Bull First Nation, have each been charged with: robbery and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Bull was taken before a justice of the peace and is currently being held on cash bail with his next court date set for Sept. 12, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.

RCMP say Okeymow was taken before a justice of the peace and released with her court date set for Sept. 26, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.

Mounties say the investigation into the firearms incident is ongoing.
