Cirque Italia bringing 1950’s dreamscape to Red Deer

Cirque Italia invites Red Deer residents to witness a dreamy circus adventure under its big top tent later this month.

From Sept. 19-22 in the Parkland Mall parking lot, the company’s Gold Unit performers will take viewers back in time to an era when hula hoops and soda fountains were abundant, Elvis Presley dominated the air waves, and greased hair was all the rage.

The show follows an adolescent who is obsessed with the 1950’s and dreams of living in the revolutionary era.

Viewers can expect to see master jugglers, low wire fanatics, contortionists, trampoline stunts, and a wheel of death. Performers in Cirque Italia hail from Argentina, Brazil, Romania, and many other countries.

Officials say the show is suitable for all age groups and is strictly animal-free.

The show schedule is as follows:

• September 19: 7:30 p.m.
• September 20: 7:30 p.m.
• September 21: 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m.
• September 22: 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Tickets are available now and vary in price depending on availability. One free child admission is offered with every full priced adult ticket sold in levels two or three.

Box office hours begin on September 17. On non-show days it will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on show days it will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased on Cirque Italia’s website or by calling 941-704-8572.
