District Chamber announces Business of the Year Awards finalists

Nominations are in for the Red Deer District Chamber’s 2024 Business of the Year Awards, and the finalists have been named.

From a pool of 95 nominees, 18 finalists were chosen by an independent adjudication committee comprised of local business leaders.

“Every year we get the opportunity to celebrate some of the best businesses, non-profit organizations, business leaders and entrepreneurs through our Business of the Year Awards presented by Servus Credit Union. This year’s list of finalists is nothing short of inspirational,” says Chamber CEO Scott Robinson.

“With our presenting partner Servus Credit Union back for a third year, we look forward to our 130th anniversary edition of our Business of the Year Awards and celebrating the accomplishments, perseverance and innovation that these businesses represent.”

In the Small Business of the Year category, the finalists are: The Bra Lounge, The Hot Tub Man, and West Country Pump and Filtration.

For the Business of the Year category, the finalists are: 360 Fitness, Paul Davis Red Deer, and Sunterra Market.

In the New Business of the Year category, the finalists are: Copper Cloud Events, Diony Distillery, and That Sweet Lyfe.

For the Not-for-Profit category, the finalists are: Care for Newcomers, Dress for Success, and the Red Deer Food Bank.

In the Emerging Business of the Year category, the finalists are Eric Moltzan – Ing and Mckee, RT Heating & Air Conditioning, and The Chemist Drug Store.

For the Business Leader of the Year Award finalists are: Eric Madsen of Prime Boiler, Garrett Scott of Kipp Scott, and Patricia Arango of the Central Alberta Sexual Assault Support Centre.

Businesses are nominated by the public and then judged by an independent committee. The committee then conducts a comprehensive evaluation to determine the finalists, which will be announced at an awards ceremony.

The 2024 Business of the Year Awards annual ceremony will be held at the Red Deer Polytechnic Arts Centre, on Oct. 23, 2024. Tickets are available online as well as at the Chamber office (3017 Gaetz Avenue).
