Rebels name pre-season roster, add two pieces

The Red Deer Rebels set their pre-season roster and added two pieces today.

Forwards Luke Jamieson and Nolan Schmidt have each signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the team.

Jamieson, 15, was selected by the Rebels in round six, 126th overall at the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft. The 15-year-old Calgary native recorded 26 points (14 goals, 12 assists) in 27 games in 2023-24 with Edge School U15 Prep (CSSHL).

Schmidt, 16, was selected by the Rebels in round ten, 216th overall at the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. The 16-year-old Edmonton native recorded 27 points (14 goals, 13 assists) in 30 games in 2023-24 with OHA Edmonton U18 Prep (CSSHL).

Schmidt and Jamieson join the pre-season roster, with play getting underway Friday night in Calgary.

The pre-season starts with Friday’s tilt in Calgary, then continues Sept. 7 at home to Lethbridge and Sept. 13 at home to Medicine Hat. It wraps up Sept. 14 in Edmonton. Home game start times are 7 p.m. at the Centrium.

The regular season begins with two at home against Lethbridge and Medicine Hat Sept. 21 and 27.
