RCMP investigating homicide on O’Chiese First Nation

RCMP are investigating a homicide on O’Chiese First Nation near Rocky Mountain House.

On Aug. 30, police say, members attended to O’Chiese for a report of a body in a field.

They located a deceased person in the field with injuries, and identified him as a 21-year-old male resident of the First Nation.

An exam was done by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the death was deemed a homicide.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been deployed and taken over the investigation.
