Sep 3, 2024 | 12:41 PM

The annual Flags of Remembrance ceremony by Veterans Voices of Canada goes this Saturday, Sept. 7, on Hwy 11 east of Sylvan Lake.

The ceremony will be at about the junction with Range Road 12.

It starts at 11:15 with a smudging ceremony, blessing, O’Canada and speakers.

At noon, there will be a horseback walk of the flag-line, pipe and drum band, reading the names of the honoured, the ‘Last Post’, and more.

All are welcome.

Flags and plaques will remain in place until Nov. 12.

The 128 flags represent the approximately 128,000 Canadians killed and missing in action.
